JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

According to deputies with the Mississippi Highway Patrol, a Jasper County woman has been charged with DUI reckless driving after crashing a car with six unrestrained kids inside.

Romona Jones, 50, was also charged with six counts of child endangerment.

Jones had six kids in the car with her who were not properly restrained by a seat belt or child seat.

According to MHP, all the kids that were in the car were between the ages of five and 11. All of the children were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

It took four separate ambulances and two private vehicles to get the children to the hospital, according to MHP.

Jones was driving westbound on Highway 84 Tuesday afternoon when she crashed into the rear of a vehicle that stopped at a traffic light.

The driver of that vehicle was also transported to the hospital.
