Hub City man charged with sexual battery of a child

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

A Hattiesburg man is behind bars facing a sexual battery charge in connection to a Hub City child.

Albert Pearson, 60, of Hattiesburg was arrested Tuesday and charged with one count of sexual battery of a child under the age of 14.

“The crime was reported to Hattiesburg Police around February 5, it allegedly happened around that time frame,” said Hattiesburg Police Lt. Jon Traxler.

According to the incident report, the incident occurred in the 700 block of West Pine Street.

“Through the investigation Pearson was arrested and charged with the crime in connection with the child,” said Traxler. “The investigation is still ongoing.”

Pearson was booked into the Forrest County Jail.
