JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - A mobile home burned to the ground Friday in Jones County.

Around 10 a.m., volunteer fire departments were dispatched to a fully involved structure fire on Russell Lane, according to a release from the Jones County Fire Council.

When units arrived, they saw the front half of the home engulfed in the fire and smoke. Firefighters were able to contain the fire, but the home was a total loss.

According to the news release, there is no known cause to what started the fire.

Homeowner Dale McDonald said he left his home for about 10 minutes to go pay his utility bill. When he returned, he noticed a lot of smoke coming out of the windows.
