HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The local AIDS Services Coalition now has a new space on Broad Street near the Hardy Street intersection in Hattiesburg.
It serves as a all-in-one place for those people who are at risk of infection or have already been diagnosed with HIV.
The new location will allow for more and better services to those living with and affected by HIV/AIDS in our community.
Services include HIV testing and education. And for people who are already HIV positive, the center has a variety of housing and assistance programs.
"When people are HIV positive, there is a whole series of emotions that they go through. In order to make sure that they are linked to care our case managers can work with them to find care, to find housing, to find other supportive services that they need," said Kathy Garner, executive director of AIDS Services Coalition."
