The Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic begins this week in Biloxi, and today golfers in Hattiesburg had a chance to get a few tips from the reigning champion.
David Frost, the 2015 Gulf Resort Classic champion, put on a chipping and putting clinic at Canebrake Country Club Monday afternoon before having a wine tasting with wines from his family's home vineyard in South Africa.
Frost won the tournament last year shooting ten-under par on his way to hoisting the trophy. He says it is good to be back in Mississippi to defend his title. "There's always a bit of hype when you come back having won the tournament the year before but it's something you've really got to put out of your mind when the tournament starts. And before that you just enjoy the moment and enjoy a bit of the hype as well." Frost added, "Every year we've come back to the Mississippi Golf Classic has been incredible."
The opening round of the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic is Friday, April 1 at Fallen Oak in Biloxi.
