NEW AUGUSTA, MS (WDAM) - The American Red Cross is continuing to reach out to those affected by the recent floods.
Saturday, the organization opened one-day-only community recovery center on the grounds of the Perry County Courthouse.
About one dozen volunteers were on hand to meet one-on-one with residents who had various flood-related emergency needs.
"We have case managers who can be out here to interview people, find out what their needs are possibly provide some financial help to people if that's available," said Eric Sandberg, site director for the community recovery center. "We also have some supplies here to help clean up, clean up kits, brooms, mops, bleach, those kinds of things."
The center was open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
