Man being sought after multi-county foot pursuit

JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - Three people are in jail and another is being sought after a multi-county foot pursuit Tuesday morning.

Officials said a Jones County deputy was patrolling on Eastabuchie road when he noticed suspicious activity outside of a home.

The deputy said he stopped to talk to the group of men. After a brief on site investigation, paraphernalia was found.

Christopher Roberts and Kendal Walker were arrested and charged with a laundry list of misdemeanors including tampering with evidence and drug paraphernalia.

A third man, Fernando Hinton, is still being sought. Officials said he ran into the house, and the homeowner, Jackie Harris, blocked deputies from getting to him so he could escape on foot.

Harris is charged with interference, disorderly conduct and providing false information.

Hinton was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt and blue jeans. He's approximately 5'11" and 190 pounds.

Anyone with information on Hinton's whereabouts is asked to call the Jones County Sheriff's Department at 601-425-3147.

The Forrest County Sheriff's Department assisted in the search for Hinton. The Mississippi Highway Patrol's helicopter was in the area and diverted to assist as well.
