Bond set for Laurel man charged with sexual battery

JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - Bond has been set for a Laurel man charged with sexual battery.

Randy Pruitt went before Jones County Justice Court Judge Howell Beech, who set a cash bond of $25,000.

Pruitt will remain housed in the Jones County Jail.

A Jones County Sheriff's Deputy was dispatched to South Central Regional Medical Center in February for a possible sexual assault complaint on a minor.

A young juvenile reported that a close family member had inappropriately touched her, according to JCSD.

During a forensic interview, the victim identified Pruitt as the perpetrator.

Pruitt and was taken into custody March 20, and interviewed the following day.
