Rescue 7 responds to three-vehicle accident in Jones County

JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

A three-vehicle accident in Jones County sent one person by Rescue 7 to Forrest General Hospital Monday afternoon. 

The injured victim was driving on I-59 North near mile marker 101 when the driver's car struck a truck carrying another car on a tractor-trailer. 

The victim's car rolled over multiple times and was ejected from the vehicle. When emergency personnel arrived on scene, they found the victim lying face down in the road. The car that was on the trailer was damaged extensively, and landed in a grassy area near the road.

The victim is believed to have life-threatening injuries, but the driver of the truck did not sustain any injuries. 

Jones County Fire Council responded to the scene as well as volunteer units from Sandersville, Powers, Glade, Jones County Sheriff's Department, Mississippi Highway Patrol and Choctaw Police.

    Hattiesburg police are searching for a man wanted in a forgery-uttering case. HPD spokesman Ryan Moore said the man wrote a fraudulent check for a drink machine at a business in the 600 block of Campbell Loop Drive in Hattiesburg.
