The Hattiesburg Police Department has added another officer to the ranks, but this one is a familiar face.
Kyle Stuart started at HPD in 2004 and stayed with the department until 2013.
“It means a lot, I get to help my fellow officers and get a chance to do what I know best and that’s protect the city of Hattiesburg and just help my community out,” Stuart said.
With Stuart returning to the department, it puts the total number of officers at 96.
“We are going forward, slowly but surely, and one more added to our force is another body that we can use, and we are currently at 96 officers,” Hattiesburg Police Chief Anthony Parker said.
Parker added that the department currently has nine cadets in a recruit class that he hopes to graduate soon.
