HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Spring break is next week in our area, and some parents might be looking for local activities for their kids.

The Hattiesburg YMCA has a few options such as a spring break camp for kindergarten-sixth graders.

The organization practices the spirit, mind and body approach to health and wellness.

The YMCA has something for all ages, and there is even a bible study group every week.

Its mission is putting Christian principles into practice.

"Here at the YMCA we have about 51 classes per week as it relates to fitness,” said Ladarius Felder, health and wellness director at YMCA Hattiesburg. “We definitely have swim, instructor and CPR and that type of thing going on next week so we definitely want them to be able come out and take advantage of that. If you’re a giving person and you're looking to give during the spring break holiday then we definitely have a food drive going on here at the YMCA.”

William Carey came from destruction to full restoration. Sophomore Cassidy Monk says, “The lord has just delivered us from such a tragic event..."

The campus of William Carey was calm as the clock struck midnight and the date turned to January 21, 2017. Then-freshman soccer player Taylor Gautreaux turned in at about 1 a.m. She would be awoken two hours later to the sounds of a violent tornado just outside her dorm room wall.
