With a perfect 32-0 record, the Heidelberg girl’s basketball team is just one win away from becoming state champions.
In the 2A semifinals game in Jackson, the Lady Oilers defeated Pelahatchie 63-50.
Head coach Deneshia Faulkner said it is all about keeping a level head.
“We have one left and we are going to treat it the same way we treated the first one,” Faulkner said.
Junior Keyara Jones said, “Just one more game. we took it one game at a time everybody did their role and we just did what we had to do.”
“They're very unselfish,” Faulkner said. “When one has a bad game we always have another to step up.”
“It feels good to know that everybody can work together as a team and get us to the place we need to be,” Jones said.
The Lady Oilers will face Ingomar on Friday at 1 p.m. in the State Championship game.
