USM students say 'It's On Us' to stop sexual assault

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The Student Government Association at the University of Southern Mississippi is asking students to get more involved in stopping sexual assault.

Tuesday, students were invited to sign a pledge that they will do their part to be more aware.

It is part of the second annual "It's On Us" campaign.

It was created by the White House and adopted by USM in 2014.

Southern Miss was one of the first 200 universities in the country to participate in the program.

Other activities will take place across the campus this week as part of the campaign.
