Accident on I-59 causes traffic delay

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The Mississippi Department of Transportation is reporting an accident on I-59 just south of the intersection with Hwy 49. Both lanes of northbound traffic are currently blocked.

A motorcyclist collided with an SUV from the rear around 1:30 p.m. on Friday. AAA is attending the motorcyclist, who does not appear to have any life-threatening injuries. Hattiesburg Police Department and Hattiesburg Fire are on the scene.

Delays in traffic are expected for the next hour. More details to follow.
