ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) -

Texas State Senator Ted Cruz's campaign for the White House will go through the Pine Belt early next week.

Cruz will speak in Jones County Monday at 1 p.m.

A message from Mississippi State Senator Chris McDaniel said the rally will take place at Jones County Junior College in the Fine Arts Auditorium. The doors are set to open at noon.

McDaniel who is co-chair of the Cruz campaign in Mississippi will also be in attendance. He said Senator Cruz is a man of the people.

"He understands the Constitution and he understands that our country has a structural failing and that we should be empowering individuals like you and me and not the government," McDaniel said.

The Mississippi primary elections will fall the next day on Tuesday, March 8.

WDAM 7 News will be live streaming the event on www.wdam.com.

This is the third presidential candidate to campaign in Mississippi. Donald Trump spoke in Biloxi, and John Kasich spoke in Gulfport and Jackson.
