HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

A Hattiesburg man is among the survivors of a deadly tornado that struck an RV park in South Louisiana Tuesday.

Johnny Gentry is a pipe fitter for an oil refinery and he was staying at the Sugar Hill Park near Convent, Lousiana when a powerful tornado hit, killing two people and injuring 30 others.

Gentry was inside his truck when it happened.

The storm turned the truck over and dropped it on top of two other vehicles and his trailer. He suffered cuts on his head and injuries to his leg.

"I crawled out of my truck and there were people, people laying everywhere out in (the) field, bleeding and hollering and little kids running around bleeding," said Gentry. "It was something I never want to have to see again, or I wish nobody would ever have to go through that."

Gentry has replaced his destroyed trailer and will be setting up at another park near his work site.

And he said he'll be back at work next Monday.
