Jeff Davis County disturbance call leads to drugs, weapons

JEFFERSON DAVIS COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

A disturbance call in Jeff Davis County led authorities to drugs and weapons and landed a convicted felon behind bars once again.

Demario Harrien was arrested Wednesday night at Briarwood Apartments in Jeff Davis County.

“When officers checked the apartment for their own safety, they noticed drugs inside the bedroom, so they backed out and called investigators to get a warrant for a full search,” Jeff Davis County Sheriff Ron Strickland said. “Officers went in to search and they recovered several pounds of marijuana, ice, multiple weapons and a lot of ammunition.”

Harrien was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute while in possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute while in possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
