HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

A Hattiesburg firefighter has co-founded a Christian ministry which will reach out to homeless and prison populations in the Hub City area.

Matt Patterson, a 14-year veteran with the Hattiesburg Fire Department, started Project 25 with his friend and fellow church member Wes DeClement.

They are planning a cookout for the homeless population at the Field House for the Homeless on Saturday, Feb. 27.

They will also be bringing with them donations of clothing, toiletries, sleeping bags, tents and other items.

They plan on visiting prison populations in the coming months.

If you would like to make a donation, you can contact them by email here, or here.
