A high-risk search warrant in Marion County ended with eight people behind bars facing charges from attempted murder to various drug charges.
“This was something that has been months in the works, it’s an investigation that has been ongoing and finally came together,” Marion County Narcotics Task Force Agent Pete Williams said.
Thirteen weapons, between $8,000 - $10,000 worth of narcotics, numerous magazines and ammunition, body armor, scales and drug paraphernalia were seized during the warrant that was served at 249 Miller Road, near the Jeff Davis County line.
Here is a list of the suspects who were arrested and charged:
“One of these is a known drug dealer that we have been after, another person in the bunch is facing multiple counts of attempted murder, so in all, this is a good lick,” Williams said.
It was a combined effort between Marion and Jeff Davis County authorities, as well as the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force, Mississippi Highway Patrol SWAT Team, Mississippi Bureau of Investigations and Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics.
“It’s what I go to work for everyday, just trying to clean the streets up in the community that I live,” Williams said. “It’s like the sheriff says, if you continue to sell dope in Marion County your days are numbered, we're going to get you.”
We will continue to update the story as it develops.
