Laurel man charged with felony possession of a firearm

LAUREL, MS (WDAM) -

On Wednesday two Laurel police officers stopped a vehicle on 1st Ave. near 21st Street for traffic violations.

The driver was identified as Rodrigus Brown, 24, and was found to be in possession of a handgun.

Brown now faces traffic charges and one count of convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Brown will have his initial appearance in Laurel Municipal Court Friday.

Sgt. Michael Reaves is the lead in the case.
