It is Fat Tuesday and for people at the Hub City Dragway, Mardi Gras means more than just king cake.
For 12 years, the track hosted a Mardi Gras Drag Racing event.
People come from all over the country to watch, race and place bets.
“We ain’t scared, we ain’t ducking and we ain’t dodging,” drag racer enthusiast Bobby Madison said.
Kye Kelley, the star of Street Outlaws on Discovery Channel, stopped by the race track to join the fun too.
“A lot of people here are trying to get on me so I guess I’m going to do some grunge racing,” Kelley said.
Despite the rivalries, at the end of the day it is all about one common feeling.
“It’s definitely the adrenaline the rush of lining up against somebody else and see who is the baddest car out there,” drag racer Scott Taylor said.
