LAMAR COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

The life-saving exploits of an Oak Grove Eagle Scout are being portrayed in comic book form in a national Boy Scout publication.

Drew Luckett, 18, risked his life in 2014 to save a woman from drowning in the Okatoma River after her canoe overturned.

For his heroism, he was given the prestigious Boy Scout Honor Medal.

Now, he's been honored again, as his story is told in the "Scouts in Action" comic in this month's edition of Boy's Life magazine.

"I jumped in, I can't see anything, it's really murky water, you can't see a thing down there," said Luckett, as he spoke about the rescue. "I was feeling around, I found her (and) I swam as hard as I could and got us to the surface and the current is still pushing you, it never stops, and I got us to shore."

Luckett will be graduating in a few months from Oak Grove High School.

He plans to join the National Guard and attend nursing school at The University of Southern Mississippi.
