PERRY COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

An arrest warrant for a convicted felon in Perry County led to a multi-jurisdictional seizure of more than $20,000 in stolen property.

Rudy Welbourn of Perry County, was arrested Friday morning at his home in Highway 29 in Perry County.

Members of the Perry County Sheriff's Department, Petal Police Department, Metro Narcotics and New Augusta Police Department assisted in the warrant.

"When officers arrived to serve the warrant they had reason to believe there was dope on the property, so they got a search Warrant," Perry County Sheriff Mitch Nobles said.

Authorities searched the property and recovered countless items they said were stolen, ranging from four-wheelers, to chainsaws and to tools.

Lamar and Jones County Sheriff's Department investigators were both called in to assist.

"There was a trailer full of items and equipment and that trailer was stolen from Lamar County," Nobles said.

Welbourn was charged with receiving stolen property and sale of a controlled substance.

His previous convictions came from 2015, which was for possession with intent to distribute and a sale charge.

During the search warrant, officers also seized several grams of meth from inside the residence.
