2 Perry Co. burglaries under investigation

Burglary at Tater's Burglary at Tater's
PERRY COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

The Perry County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s assistance in solving a pair of burglaries.

One of those occurred on Dec. 28 at Tater’s Food & Fuel in Richton.

According to Sheriff Mitch Nobles, the safe and ATM were both broken into and money was taken. The DVR surveillance system was also taken.

“All we have right now is that it was two white males and we are looking for information,” Nobles said.

The second burglary occurred on Jan. 26 at Greer’s Food Tiger in Beaumont.

“The safe was taken and the ATM was broken into and money was taken, and the DVR system was also taken,” Nobles said.

Nobles said they have a description that is two black males, but that is all they have.

“Both of these crimes are similar, but we don’t necessarily think they are connected,” Nobles said.

Anyone with information can call the Perry County Sheriff’s Office at 601-964-8461 or Perry County Crimestoppers at 601-964-STOP (7867).
