HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A late night shooting in the Hub City injured two and landed a suspect behind bars.

Hattiesburg police responded to a report of shots fired in the 100 block of Ellis Drive just before midnight.

"When police arrived, one victim had been transported by a civilian to the hospital," said Hattiesburg Police Lt. Jon Traxler. "The second victim was still on scene, and transported to the hospital."

Both victims are listed in stable condition.

According to Traxler, Jeremy Powe,33, has been charged with aggravated assault in connection to the shooting.

Powe has been booked into the Forrest County Jail.
