TRAFFIC ALERT: Accidents send 3 to hospital; all lanes clear on I-59 past US 49 N

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Two separate vehicle accidents stalled traffic Friday afternoon on I-59 and sent three people to the hospital.

The right northbound lane is now clear on I-59.

Around 2 p.m., the first accident involved one vehicle that struck a bridge on I-59 past US 49 North near Exit 67B.

Two people were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, according to HPD Lt. Jon Traxler.

The second accident involved two vehicles that were trying to avoid the first accident. One person was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, according to Traxler.
