Marion County search warrants land 11 behind bars
11 warrants in Marion County led to many felony drug charges.

MARION COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - Nearly a dozen people are behind bars facing felony drug charges after officers served multiple high-risk warrants in Marion County.

Members of the Marion County Narcotics Task Force and Sheriff's Department served multiple search warrants throughout the county.

"We have roughly 20 to 30 people we are going after, ranging in all different types of drug charges," said Marion County Narcotics Task Force Commander Brad McDermit.

Suspects are facing charges ranging from felony drug possession, intent to distribute, and animal cruelty charges.

"We recovered multiple guns, crack cocaine, a large amount of marijuana, black tar heroin, and money," said McDermit.

All suspects will make their initial appearances next week in a Marion County Court.

"The war on drugs in a continued battle we fight everyday in law enforcement," said McDermit.
