FBI and state agencies raid Hattiesburg pharmacies

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Members of the FBI and The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics along with multiple other state agencies raided at least four businesses in the Hub City Thursday morning.

Multiple agencies involved questioned employees at each location.

According to FBI officials, this is part of a much larger operation that expands outside of the Hub City.

"The FBI along with multiple other federal and state agencies are executing multiple search warrants at locations in the metro Jackson area, Southern and Northern Mississippi. Because the matter is ongoing, we aren't able to provide additional detail," FBI Jackson Special Agent Jason Pack said.

The following locations were raided in Hattiesburg:

  • AMI Rx on Old Hwy 11
  • An unnamed medical facility on 56 98 Place Blvd
  • Advantage Pharmacy on Highway 98
  • Walters Consulting & Associates on Highway 98

The majority of the activity took place at Advantage Pharmacy on Highway 98.

"This operation is proof of what can happen when resources are combined at local state and federal levels," Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics Steve Maxwell said.

According to officials, the warrants spanning across the state are related directly to medical facilities, and deal with drugs and health care fraud.

This investigation was primarily led by the FBI and they are working with various other agencies for the state wide operation.
