EASTABUCHIE, MS (WDAM) -

It's been a long time coming and a lot of hard work, but Wednesday was a big day for WDAM-TV and Raycom Media, WDAM's parent company.

Just before noon, company leaders cut a ribbon on WDAM's new expansion in Eastabuchie.

It's 5,700 square feet and it features a new lobby, along with new sales, marketing and production areas.

Paul McTear, president and CEO of Raycom Media, said it shows the company's continued commitment to the people of the Pine Belt.

"You have to continue to invest in businesses if you want them to sustain the level of performance and service that they have done for both Hattiesburg and Laurel over these many decades," McTear said.

The improvements also include many new parking spaces and new landscaping.
