LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - Community members and leaders of Laurel came together Monday morning for their annual MLK Prayer breakfast which was held at the Laurel Train Depot.
The event, which started at 8:00 a.m. featured music from the Laurel High School Male Quartet and scripture reading from Rev. James McLaurin of Christian Valley Baptist Church.
Featured guest speaker for the event was State Senator Juan Barnett, District-34, who spoke on the importance of unity during a time of division. Barnett also read quotes from King's legacy.
The annual MLK Prayer Breakfast was sponsored by the MLK Community Development Corporation.
