HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Thousands of people lined Hardy Street in Hattiesburg Saturday to catch "throws" and otherwise have a good time during the 5th annual Caerus Mardi Gras Parade.

Dozens of floats took part, with various businesses and organizations represented.

Marching bands and dance groups also participated.

It began on Service Road alongside Highway 49 and then turned west on Hardy Street.  It then headed north on 38th Avenue, ending at Morningside Drive.

Charity partners for this year's parade were several local animal shelters.
