On Jan. 15, 1929, Martin Luther King Jr was born in Atlanta, Georgia. And while Monday is the official holiday in observance of his birth and life, today is his actual birthday.
As we start the holiday weekend, you may have the good fortune of being off on Monday, and I encourage you to not look at it as just another day off. Let's consider how each of us can make our community a better place for one another.
Dr. King dedicated himself to achieving equality through non-violent actions. Let his legacy be a lesson for all of us and inspire us toward positive actions. We can honor him by truly making a difference in the Pine Belt.
