Laurel to host annual MLK parade Saturday

LAUREL, MS (WDAM) -

Marching bands, dancers and church organizations will gather Saturday in Laurel to celebrate the life and work of slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr.

They will participate in a 27th annual parade in his honor along Beacon Street.

It will begin at 10 a.m. and follow the same route as the annual Sertoma Christmas Parade.

Organizers said the event has more than 50 entries so far, with more expected Saturday morning.

Line up for the parade will be at 9 a.m.
