Log truck accident sends one to hospital

A log truck accident sent one person to a local hospital Thursday afternoon. A log truck accident sent one person to a local hospital Thursday afternoon.
JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

A single vehicle accident involving a log truck sent the driver to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The accident occurred around 3 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Highway 28 and Highway 84 near Laurel.

Witnesses said that the driver lost control of her vehicle as she was turning onto the highway from the light at the intersection.

Agencies responding to the accident was the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the Calhoun Fire Department, MDOT and the Jones County Emergency Operations Center.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

    The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has issued a Missing/Endangered Child Alert for four-year-old William Holley III of Clarksdale. He was last seen Saturday at approximately 11:45 a.m. near the Hampton Inn and McDonald's on Highway 49 South in Clarksdale, in Coahoma County.
