PINE BELT - The weather is expected to drop below freezing tonight and into the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The Salvation Army has two of their warming stations open for those seeking shelter from the cold.
"When the temperature drops below 40 degrees and remains there all day long, we have a warming station that's open during the day so that folks can come in and warm up," said Corp. Officer Lieutenant Patrick Connely. "The important part of this is so that people have a place where they can stay warm because when it gets cold and you have no place to go it can be disheartening."
The Hattiesburg and Laurel shelters are open.
Residents looking for the Hattiesburg Salvation Army warming shelter can go to 5670 US 49, Hattiesburg, MS 39401.
Residents looking for the Laurel Salvation Army warming shelter can go to 205 North 13th Ave, Laurel, MS 39440.
