Joe's Viewpoint: Mississippi primaries

Joe Sciortino Joe Sciortino

Mississippi’s presidential primary is just two month away from Friday and will be held on March 8.

In past years the nominees were essentially decided at this point and the outcome of the party primary was viewed by most as a given.

This is not the case this year and the primary is far from decided.

Mississippi is garnering attention from the candidates and this is a good thing.

I encourage you to learn more about the candidates so you can make an informed decision in two months.

Our primary is not a winner takes all situation, so even if your candidate does not carry the entire state, he or she can still win some Mississippi delegates to party conventions.

Your vote matters in this election and the future of Mississippi matters. Let’s make it count.

This is today’s Viewpoint.

Campbell Klein will be the featured running back for Sacred Heart this season. But no matter how many yards and touchdowns he accumulates, Klein doesn't forget the guys up front who make it all possible.
