Madison City police search for wanted fugitive linked to Jones Co. fraud case

MISSISSIPPI (WDAM) -

Central Mississippi Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in locating a wanted fugitive identified as Demetrius McCollum, according to the Charles Harrison with the Madison City Police Department.

McCollum is wanted on multiple fraud related warrants in connection with the Angela Darlene Brown fraud case, who is a native of Jones County.

The U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force is actively searching for McCollum to take him into custody on existing felony fraud warrants.

According to police, they have identified McCollum as the person known as “Trey Colston,” who was known to be operating an ongoing fraudulent car scheme out of Atlanta, Georgia, with Brown.

He is believed to still be in the Atlanta area, but he’s been known to travel to Jones County.

This case is ongoing.

Anyone with information that leads to the arrest of McCollum would be eligible for a reward up to $2,500.
