J.A. of Hattiesburg unveils Smart Art projects

(The following is a press release from the Junior Auxiliary of Hattiesburg.  Visit www.HattiesburgJuniorAuxiliary.org for more details.)

Junior Auxiliary of Hattiesburg provides Smart Art, an artistic enrichment program for children at Edwards Street Fellowship.

The annual project was designed to encourage children with interactive art experiences beyond their regular school programs.  It exposes them to a variety of artistic media that they may otherwise never experience.

This project takes place each year in January at the Edwards Street Fellowship Center. The children enjoy several sessions of the arts.  In the past, they have included painting, music, drama, sewing.  This year, the event will take place on January 30th and features painting, dancing, cooking and photography.

Participants are given gift bags full of art supplies, books, and musical instruments so that they can continue to explore and enjoy the arts at home.
Smart Art and the other 18 JA projects are funded through Charity Ball. This is the organization's single fund raising event, which takes place every year in November.

JA could not do the work without the generosity of our supporters in and around Hattiesburg, through donations and our annual fundraiser, Charity Ball.
