LUMBERTON, MS (WDAM) -

A date for the Lumberton mayoral run-off election has been announced. 

The run-off will be held Tuesday, Dec. 29. 

The candidates in the run-off are alderman Kent Crider and blogger Jonathan Griffith.

A special election for mayor was held on Dec. 15 where Crider clocked 146 votes, Griffith 126 and Jerry Walters with 30 votes. 

The former Lumberton Mayor Ben Winston resigned on Nov. 4. He served as mayor since 2013 when he defeated Miriam Holder. 

Crider currently serves as Ward 1 alderman, and Griffith writes for the Lumberton Informer blog.
