Pamela Weaver has been tapped by Mississippi Development Authority Executive Director Glenn McCullough, Jr., to serve as chief marketing officer for the state's lead economic development agency.
"Pamela is a dynamic leader, and she will be a tremendous asset to our team," said McCullough. "Successful economic development occurs through the building of relationships both at home and worldwide. Pamela's many successful years of experience at the Secretary of State's office has shown us that she will continue to forge new connections to help attract new investments and career opportunities to Mississippi, which accelerate the growth of our economy."
As chief marketing officer, Pamela will lead the MDA Marketing and Communications team's efforts to promote investment and job creation throughout the state by providing public relations, marketing, event planning, graphic design, website management and advertising to each of MDA's divisions.
For the last eight years, Pamela has served as the communications director for the Mississippi Secretary of State's Office.
"I am excited to accept this new opportunity to further promote our great state, both nationally and internationally," said Weaver.. "Glenn McCullough has already proven to be a positive influence in Mississippi through his commitment to create new jobs by recruiting new companies and helping our existing businesses expand. An Ocean Springs native, Pamela Weaver graduated the University of Southern Mississippi with degrees in both mass communication and political science. Pamela is a former anchor and news reporter at WDAM-TV in Hattiesburg, recognized by the Associated Press for Best Newscast and Best Spot News Story.
In 2009, Pamela was featured as someone to "Keep an Eye On" by the Mississippi Business Journal. In 2013, she was named one of the "Top 40 under 40" in Mississippi.
