HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The 1400 AM Fox Sports Radio channel is offline because of a fire that damaged a radio station where the channel transmitted signal.

"There is no time table of getting the station back on the air at this point," said Jackson Walker, Senior Vice President of programming for iHeart Media. "The building was a total loss, and the fire marshal is still investigating."

According to Walker, iHeart Media is actively working on a plan to remedy the situation.

The fire on Tuesday night destroyed the WFOR station on 7th Street around 8 p.m. Tuesday.

A firefighter was injured, and sent to the Jackson burn center for treatment.
