The city of Seminary elected Steven Sanford as one of the new alderman Tuesday.
Seminary held a special election Tuesday to fill the seat vacated by one of its aldermen that resigned in October.
David Daniels had held that seat for 32 years, but stepped down amid disagreements with other members of the board.
At that time current Mayor Billy Karolyi and the City Clerk Charlotte Dunn also resigned.
Since then, Mike Witoski has been appointed mayor and said it is time to turn the page and move on.
“We're about two and a half years into the four-year term of this office,” Wilcosky said. “So when they were vacated, these terms are going to be for a year and a half to fulfill the term and just being a small town with limited assets and everything, we need to keep business as usual and try to move forward.”
The next special election to fill the two remaining aldermen positions will be held on Dec. 29.
