Authorities search for suspects in Hub City armed robbery

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Authorities are searching for suspects in connection with an armed robbery that happened Friday. 

The incident occurred at the 900 block of Wedgewood in Hattiesburg.

According to Hattiesburg Police Department Lt. Jon Traxler, police met the victim at the 300 block of Park Avenue. 

The victim said he was at a residence in the 900 block of Wedgewood when another person approached him with a handgun and demanded money. 

Traxler said the victim told police that when he reached for the money, the person struck him in the head.

The victim began to run away, at which time he heard several shots fired.
