Domestic violence incident lands Hattiesburg man behind bars

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

A Hattiesburg man is behind bars for an aggravated assault/domestic violence incident that happened over the weekend.

Carlos Williams, 38, was arrested for aggravated assault and domestic violence Sunday.

According to Hattiesburg Police Department Lt. Jon Traxler, officers were dispatched to Forrest General Hospital because a person was there with injuries sustained during the incident.

The victim said Williams attacked her after an altercation and began choking her and assaulting her with his hands and feet, Traxler said.

The victim said she was able to get free and seek medical help, according to Traxler.

Williams is being held at the Forrest County Jail.
