Sloth Wars return to The Hattiesburg Zoo

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Celebrate the Holiday Season with the whole family at the Hattiesburg Zoo this year. The Zoo will host Jingle in the Jungle, a lineup of holiday events all season. This Christmas there is something for everyone to experience at the Hattiesburg Zoo.

Jingle in the Jungle will kick off with the continuation of the Sloth Wars Saga on December 11th. At
“Sloth Wars: The Saga Continues,” guests can show off their best dance moves at the Death Star Disco, enjoy Wookie Cookies and Milk, participate in Jedi Training, and watch classic Star Wars films. The event will run from 6pm-8pm, and admission is $8 for guests 2 and up.

The Holiday fun continues with Teddy Bear Train Rides on December 12th. Bring your favorite stuffed animal to the Zoo on December 12th for a free train ride with the purchase of Zoo admission.

On December 18th and 19th, the Zoo will host “Vintage Holiday Nights: A Magical Christmas Event,”  from 6-8 pm. The cost per guest is $8, which includes unlimited train and carousel rides, plus animal shows and more!

After the hustle and bustle of Christmas is over kids ages 5-12 can learn all about Hibernation at this year’s Winter Camp. The camp will run from December 28th-31st, from 9am-2pm. The cost for Winter Camp is $45 per day, or $160 for all four days. Extended care will also be offered from 7:30am-8:30am, and from 2:30 pm-5:30 pm. The cost for Extended Care is $5 per hour.     Fifth-ranked Jones County Junior College relied on different methods to come up with a pair of Mississippi Association of Community and Junior College baseball victories at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. The Bobcats (29-7, 14-4 MACJC) rallied for two runs in the top of the ninth inning to win the opening game 4-2, then jumped out to 10-0 lead after three innings in the nightcap before holding on for a 14-9 win.
