USM superintendent advisers meet for first time

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A group of school superintendents who are advising administrators and faculty in Southern Miss' College of Education and Psychology met for the first time at a luncheon on the Hattiesburg campus Thursday.

The advisory board, made up of about one dozen superintendents from across South Mississippi, will share ideas with the Educational Leadership Program.

The goal is to improve training of future K-12 administrators.

The board, including superintendents from Forrest County, Jones County, Laurel, Petal, Gulfport and Ocean Springs will meet periodically.
