HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The Forrest County Agricultural Girl's Basketball team spent their Monday afternoon at Walmart to knock out some holiday shopping.

In his first year as head coach of the Lady Aggies, Mack Gardner wanted his varsity squad to give back to the community.

"We like to teach our kids that there is more to life than basketball," Gardner said.

Gardner contacted Lamar County Human Services and received the Angel tree information of two children in need.

After practice Monday, the team drove to Walmart and all of the players chipped in to purchase gifts for those less fortunate.

"The team was so excited to be a part of it," Gardner said. "We wanted to give back to the community and help those less fortunate than ourselves."

The FCAHS Lady Aggies will face Sumrall on the road on Friday, Dec. 11 at 5 p.m.
