JCJC’s Stevens named MACJC Player of the Week

ELLISVILLE – Jones County Junior College's Bruce Stevens has been named the MACJC Men's Player of the Week.

Stevens, a 6-foot-8 freshman forward from Bay Springs High School, had a monster game in the Bobcats' 102-100, double overtime loss at undefeated Mississippi Gulf Coast last week.

He scored 27 points, pulled down 21 rebounds and blocked three shots in the game. Stevens was 10-of-15 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free throw line.

Stevens is currently averaging 16.6 points and nine rebounds per game on the season. He is shooting 65 percent from the floor and 76 percent from the foul line.

JCJC, 6-2 overall and 1-1 in the MACJC South Division, will host Louisiana Christian Prep at 6 p.m. on Monday its final game before the Christmas holiday break.
