Some folks from Southern Pines animal shelter stopped by the Southern Miss campus Monday.
They brought a few puppies in tow for the students to enjoy in between classes.
Over 20 students gathered at the Honors House on campus to enjoy these four-legged friends.
Dean of the Honors College Ellen Weinauer said that finals week can be stressful for some faculty and staff, but especially for students.
And having the puppies there helps with that stress management and creates a good social experience.
"We try to come to this whenever they have the puppies up here just because we grew up with animals, mostly cats, but puppies are a little more energetic,” junior Olivia Paris-Harbison said. “So this is really good and like a replacement for that."
"I really enjoy animals,” senior Jordan Rice said. “I'm trying to be a veterinarian actually, so it's a great way to release a lot of stress before finals or right after a final. I just got done with one actually."
