POPLARVILLE, MS (WDAM) - Two business students at Pearl River Community College are getting an early start at being successful entrepreneurs.

Collin Rust and Ryan Hodgson of Picayune have created their own skateboard company, called Urban Boards.

They custom-make boards from Canadian maple and they say they're doing good business so far, thanks to word-of-mouth and social media.

"It's been blowing up like crazy lately," said Rust. "People have been wanting boards, people have been wanting to do interviews, everybody is talking urban now."

"We have so many boarders wanting to get our boards, we've had so many orders flow in and stuff like that, we just can't even keep up with the orders when we try to make them," said Hodgson.

The company, founded in 2013, even has it's first sponsored rider. He is fellow PRCC business student Will Hinkle.

"If I have an event that I go to and they don't, I kind of represent them at that event and skate and represent Urban Boards as a whole," Hinkle said.
